Laughter May Mean More to Us Than Fun

It has often been said that laughter is good for the soul but there is many indications that it is good for a lot more besides that. Research is showing that by laughing what happens to the blood vessels is that they tend to expand and this means that there is more blood flow coming through. In the end, the set of blood vessels become healthier because of their increased functioning.

We all know that stress plays real havoc on the body but one of the many negative aspects is that it has is that it will often constrict the flow of blood through those same blood vessels that laughing will help to open.

Many studies have been conducted to see just how beneficial laughter really is. There has been a lot of speculation about it in the past but now researchers are taking a closer look at it because of the suspected benefits that it may have.

Another benefit of laughter that is beginning to take quite a bit of notice is that it is extremely good for strengthening the heart for individuals who cannot participate in any type of physical exercise. Now it is believed the laughing may have an effect on other organs in areas of the body.

So one really has to take a closer look that if laughing is able to open the blood vessels what are the benefits the rest of the body are getting from this? It is well known that if the blood vessels are open and flowing that there is better muscle control and function.

The brain works better and then it seems like a snowball effect takes place. One function affects the next so the conclusion would be that laughter is good for the overall body.

Actually one of the other major factors that’s taking place in the body when one has a bout of laughing is a major creation of attack cells which are quite capable of destroying antibodies that are responsible for disease. Laughing has the same ability to create an adrenaline flow just as fear or anger does.

Laughing is even attributed to keeping one younger. One of the very few factors like this is that there does not seem to be any bad side effects to laughing. Actually, a part of your brain helps you recognize a joke. Another interesting factor about laughing is that every individual has his or her own unique laugh.
