The Common Misconception of the Acne – Diet Relationship

I find it hard to accept that, in this day and time, health professionals continue to tell us that diet and acne have no relationship. Acne breakouts are the result of your body being overloaded with hormones or toxic chemicals and it’s attempt to get rid of this overload by sending the material out through your skin in sebum oil. Do your seriously think that adding more of these chemicals that are in processed food won’t kick your acne into hyperdrive?

Your first acne breakout probably occurred during your early teenage years. Your hormone levels jump to excessive levels and your body is sending the overload out through your skin emulsified in sebum oil. All acne pimples begin with too much sebum oil on your skin.

Since your body is already overloaded with hormones, adding more would be foolish, don’t you think? That’s exactly what you’ll do by consuming any kind of dairy product. Just drinking a glass of milk will add saturated animal fat, various steroids, and 59 different hormones to your system. Eliminating dairy products is a mainstay of any good anti acne diet.

When acne continues into your adult years, the most likely reason is that you have a low tolerance level for chemicals that are in processed foods. Your body’s reaction to these toxins is much the same as it was for hormones. And, it reacts the same way, sending them out in sebum oil that starts your acne outbreaks.

Any effective diet for acne prone skin will eliminate processed foods to remove the root cause of extra sebum production.

These examples indicate that, no matter what others may have told you, there is an absolute link between diet and acne. Always remember that the root of your acne is on the inside. Treat the internal problem and the external symptoms will go away on their own.
